Best Edition The Fire Never Goes Out: A Memoir in Pictures with FREE PDF EDITION!

This was a lovely collection of illustrated prose and comics, though the content is a little vague and I read through it not ever really being sure of what the author was going through, exactly, or what her exact story was. I got the feeling that she wanted to publish a memoir without including too many details of mental illness aspect of her journey, which was a little odd. Though the career aspect of the story was pretty detailed. It seems like, if you're ready to publish a memoir, you should be ready to really open up and be clear about what the issues were, especially in an issue-driven memoir. The general message is that the author came of age during a very successful period in her life, while reckoning with aspects of her identity, mental illness, and burnout. Teens will probably be able to relate to that general vibe, even if it does feel nonspecific and cagey about the details and resolution.Noelle's comics and illustrations are great and the overall layout/design of the book is really nice and well planned. The happy ending is delightful.
