I wanted to like this so much but I just couldn't get into it. So much back story and back and forth and a little choppy. I liked the characters but it seemed that they were not the main focus. Anyway it started to make me frustrated and I wanted it to get going to the plot and their relationship with a bit of magic. Not all chatter about her mother. I gave it up at the 9th chapter.
