I have enjoyed Tom Burkhalter's novels of the air war in the southwest Pacific theater. My hope was that this book would add background. It doesn't. It consists of brief anecdotes with little context. The authors of first person accounts are not always identified. The captions are wrong. Punctuation is lacking. Word choice is occasionally incorrect. The topic is of interest and recording the oral history of this generation is important. But, this book could benefit from a good editor.
