A visit to Upperville, VA, stable with endurance horses introduced me to endurance riding. If I were younger and had been riding longer, I'd be interested in taking up the sport. However, I'm not sure I'd have the grit and energy to take on Tevis. Wow. Especially after having read this book and seen what it's like. Melde takes us along for the ride and pulls no punches about the challenges of this historic salute to the pony express. A must-read if you're considering endurance riding.
